Weirdies Supporting Weirdies!

Cosplayer Spotlight – Asozlezoa

Hello Tuesday. Here is another cosplayer to brighten your week. I hope you like her interview as much as I did!

Ferwen – OC elf Ferwen – Photographer: C-flash Ninja (

Hi, What is your name?

My name is Liselot, but my friends call me Lilly

My page’s name is Asozlezoa Cosplay, instagram is Asozlezoa. It’s  basically the name you’ll find me under on everything I have :3

What is your favorite beverage?

I’d say milk, I always drink it

When did you start cosplaying?

I started cosplaying in 2011 after a friend of mine told me about conventions. After my first convention, I was dedicated to cosplaying. I did take a break from cosplay in 2012-2013 as I was in Japan as an exchange student.

Why did you start cosplaying?

I just loved it. I always loved dressing up and crafting and this was just a perfect way to fill my time. I started doing it with a few friends and one of those friends kept cosplaying with me. Basically the reason I know conventions and cosplay is all thanks to Shoddy Monkey (!

Who are your cosplay idols?

Nibu.cosplay ( is amazing. She’s truely my idol. She’s superfriendly and ready to help anyone. She does her ultimate best to reply to everyone and to share as much information as she can.

What types of cosplay do you do?

I cosplay both from anime and video games (mostly League of Legends). I do characters I fall in love with or that I see myself in.

What are your favorite cosplays?

My favorite cosplays would be Snow Bunny Nidalee, my OC elf Ferwen and Maid Eevee. All three of them were spur of the moments projects. I just randomly decided to do them and made them.

What is something you want to cosplay but probably never will?

I would LOVE to cosplay any skin of Nami (League of Legends), but I feel like the techniques that need to be used for this cosplay are too difficult for me. Also, it might be a bit too expensive ^^’

It’ll stay a dream of mine and I  hope that someday I can make it come true, but as for now I don’t think it’ll happen.

Do you make or buy your cosplays?

I make my cosplays. I do commission a headpiece or something small once in a while.

I once bought a cosplay, but I felt bad about buying it so I sold it not that long after~

What do you love about cosplay?

I just adore making the cosplay and seeing the end result. Knowing that all of the work you put in led to this beautiful finished work is just an amazing feeling.

Next to that, spending time with friends at cons in cosplay is also great! And meeting new people because of your costume is a nice way to make friends ^~^

What is the most difficult thing for you about cosplay?

The way the non-cosplayers see it. I’ve had people laugh at me because I “played dress up even though you’re 20+”, I’ve had people ask me if that was something lingerie-based, I’ve had people walk away from me in disgust… Luckily there are people out there that want to know what it is and are interested in how, what, why.

If you could live in/visit any fantasy world, where would you go?

I’d love to visit the Harry Potter world. Magic seems just amazing. I’m rereading the books for about the tenth time now~

Where do you get your inspiration for your cosplays?

I just randomly find characters I like in series, games etc.

For Ferwen, my OC elf, I just had some fake flowers left with a lot of leaves and I thought it’d make a cute bra and so I started.

What is something you wish beginning cosplayers knew?

With this I mean, I often read people saying things like “I’ve never cosplayed before, can I do it?” “I can’t work with EVA foam (even though I never tried) what should I do?” “I can’t sew but I want this ballgown, what do I do?”

Saying “I can’t” is one of the reasons why you’re not doing it. I never said I couldn’t sow, I just borrowed my mom’s machine and tried some stuff out. Foam? I asked a friend to show me how to once (but you can easily find that on youtube now) and I started using it. You don’t know what you can or can’t do until you try and learn.

What tips/tricks do you have for other cosplayers?

Try to learn a bit of everything. It’s not because you’re really good at crafting with foam that you should leave sewing alone. It’s nice to find out what you can work with by trying out different things.

What is something you wish non-cosplayers knew?

Cosplay is more than “playing dress up” or “being almost naked”, it’s a community, it’s a hobby, it’s art.

What cosplays are you working on?

Right now I’m working on Candy Cane Miss Fortune and Classic Riven from League of Legends.

What cosplays do you want to do if money and time were no object?

I’ve a list…

I’d basically start with Nami (Possibly Koi, but SKT T1 is amazing as well), go to Elderwood Leblanc and Erza in her Heaven’s Wheel armour. I’d probably just make everything on the list and stuff that’s not on there too :’)

Where can people find your cosplays?

Please remember I do not own any of these pictures and the opinions in this survey belong to the interviewee.
