When did you start cosplaying?

Way back in the 1980s

Why did you start cosplaying?

I was really into both Star Trek and Judge Dredd and wanted to see if I could make the gear.

What types of cosplay do you do?

Star Trek and Judge Dredd

What are your favorite cosplays?

My Starfleet (next gen) Admiral and my Mega City One Judge

What is something you want to cosplay but probably never will?

A Klingon

Do you make or buy your cosplays?

I make elements buy elements, improvise with and re imagine stuff that can be bought.

What do you love about cosplay?

Something my family do together and as we do the judge Cosplay we are part of a community

What is the most difficult thing for you about cosplay?

The cost

If you could live in/visit any fantasy world, where would you go?

The 24th century as described in Star Trek

Where do you get your inspiration for your cosplays?

Partly from the 2000AD comics, partly from TV and movies and partly from my imagination

What are your “fandoms”?

What is something you wish beginning cosplayers knew?

How to sew

What is something you wish non-cosplayers knew?

That it’s no different from wearing the colours of your favourite sports team

What cosplays are you working on?

Currently maintenance on my judge costume and on an unarmoured judge (based on American Civil War Union Cavalry)

What cosplays do you want to do if money and time were no object?

Klingon judge

I’m at quite a few cons, especially MCM Birmingham and For the Love of SciFi. The judges groups on Facebook

Is it best to cosplay as an individual, part of a group or part of a family?

I’m part of a group and part of a family of cosplayers and they both work well.
