I have been following this adorable cosplayer for a while and she is GREAT at what she does! Her Luna and all her cosplays are adorable. Don’t forget to follow to support your fellow cosplayer!

Hi, what’s your name?

ZumbaWolf Cosplay of the League of Extraordinary Appalachians

What is your favorite beverage?

Mountain Dew is my absolute favorite! I also rather enjoy Southern Sweet Tea, Chocolate milkshakes and Hot Apple Cider!

When did you start cosplaying?

I have been dressed up for Halloween and birthday parties by my mom since before I was a year old, so that was a partial start. A main place that also shifted me into cosplaying was my first event, Free Comic Book Day 2015. I saw all these other cosplayers and I was like, “That looks like fun! I want to do that!” And so here I am almost 3 years later, cosplaying and having pure joy in it!

Why did you start cosplaying?

To start, it was seeing others having fun doing the cosplaying. After I got into it, I saw I could also use it for good, like brining joy to children and hospital patients in need and possibly to raise charity money. That is why I started my cosplay group, League of Extraordinary Appalachians. We will have been an active group in 1 year on January 27th. It has been a wonderful time with a group of people who all appreciate cosplay and what you can do with it.

Who are your cosplay idols?

NineLives Cosplay, whom is a wonderful member of the Rebel Leagion as an Ahsoka Tano, the cosplayers of The Ultimate Experience, the cosplayers of Be Your Own Hero Cosplay, the cosplayers of the Rebel Legion, Boston Bee Cosplay, Funscuttle, Shea Cosplays, and RattleTheStars Cosplay. They are all such wonderful cosplayers and dear friends. I love watching their cosplays, journeys and all they do.

What types of cosplay do you do?

I actually do a little of everything. I have cosplays from Anime, and Videogames. I have more that fall under the books/fiction and Superheros genre.

What are your favorite cosplays?

I am unsure exactly what to answer to this one so I’ll answer it the best I can. Assuming you are meaning my favorite cosplays I have done, Astrid Hofferson, Luna Lovegood and Lucy Heartfilia top my list.

What is something you want to cosplay but probably never will?

Arcee and/or Megatron of the TransFormers: Prime cartoon series. They are big characters with much detail and I am unsure where I could even begin with those guys!

Do you make, buy, or special order your cosplays?

I used to buy my cosplays, which were normally Halloween costumes when it came around. But now I find much more joy in making and/or piecing together the characters I become through cosplay.

What do you love about cosplay?

That is can be an escape from stress. That you can be anyone you desire to be… The hero or the villain, and you can just have fun in doing it.

What is the most difficult thing for you about cosplay?

The drama that often comes with it. There are some cosplayers who think they are better, act like they are better and try to get you in trouble at comicons and in cosplay groups by lying just to try and stir you up. The difficult part is looking past the comments and the struggle and pushing through and being the cosplayer you know you are.

Who is your favorite character to cosplay?

I adore cosplaying Astrid Hofferson the most because I love her as a character She is a strong Viking with a dragon (which I adore the most as fictional creatures) and a strong will for what she cares about.

If you could live in or visit any fantasy world, where would you go?

Middle-Earth. Mainly because Tolkien easily became my favorite author when reading Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Then Peter Jackson beautifully visualized the universe and I would love nothing more than for it to be real and for me to live there. Particularly Lothlorien, Mirkwood and/or Rivendell.

Where do you get your inspiration for your cosplays?

A majority of the inspiration comes from whatever universe the cosplay is based in. Often times, the characters that the cosplay will let me become. I try to imagine how those characters would handle things and go from there.

What are your “fandoms”?

I could write you a 500 mile long list. But I don’t exactly want to do that, so I list my biggest fandoms: MARVEL, Middle-Earth, the Arrowverse, Harry Potter fandom, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Divergent, Shadowhunters, The Hunger Games and Skyrim. Those are all my biggest ones.

What is something you wish beginning cosplayers knew?

Look over the drama that comes with it. Don’t get into fights when something false is said against you, but handle it swiftly. Make sure people know who you are. Remember, the cosplay should make you happy above anyone else. Don’t listen to any haters. You are beautiful because you are you in cosplay!

What tips/tricks do you have for other cosplayers?

Always remember to start a good amount of time before the convention on a cosplay. And remember not to stress yourself out. Plus, no matter how early you start, you are always going to be doing some details last minute, the night before or the day of the con, so relax. And always remember, your fingers will probably suffer the most during your trips in the cosplay world.

What is something you wish non-cosplayers knew?

The we are not strange or weird. It is literally no weirder for us to dress up as characters, wigs and all, than it is for you to scream at sports on the TV or paint your entire body to go to a sports game. You comments about us being weird children who refuse to live in the world and grow up are reflections of how childish you can be yourself. So think before you speak. We are only as realistic as you act.

What cosplays are you working on?

Mal of Disney’s Descendants, Black Canary of Arrow (season 4), Reyna of the Heroes of Olympus Series and Ahsoka Tano of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (seasons 3-5)

What cosplays do you want to do if money and time were no object?

Alice of Alice: Through the Looking Glass and the Bloomix version of Stella from Winx Club season 6.
